Garbage and Recycling

Garbage is collected on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week.

Recycling is collected on the 1st & 3rd or 2nd & 4th Fridays of the month, depending on your address. If a month has 5 Fridays, the City does a Citywide Recycling pick-up on that day.
There will be changes if a holiday falls on your pickup day.
For specific date changes in the pickup schedule, please refer to the Luverne Outlook monthly newsletter or the City of Luverne Facebook page
Find your pickup days on the Refuse and Recycling route maps.
Some things cannot be thrown in a garbage container and have to be specially prepared or disposed of elsewhere.  Please contact Rock County Land Management Office at (507) 283-8862 EXT. #3 for disposal instructions of:  Appliances, Batteries, Construction and Demolition waste, Household Hazardous waste, Light Bulbs, Motor Oil/Filters/Auto Fluids, Pesticides, Thermostats/Mercury, and Tires.
